FOR SERVICE
131/300
Hi love, how are you? How was the last week for you? Welcome aboard, I hope you find hope, happiness and peace here.
Service has always been my default setting.
There’s never been a phase of my life where I am not serving—early years, teenage years, school years, adult years and I bet I’d be serving until I go to be with my Father.
Over the years, I have served in different roles. Some of which have really helped my life become better. Growing up, I used to participate in almost every activity in church—acting, singing, Bible quiz, Bible reading and so on and I always like to mention that these things built the foundation on which every other things are built.
Later in life, I would find myself itching to do something to help once I go anywhere.
“What is needed?”
“What can I do to make this place/thing better?”
“What area can I contribute in/to?”
And each time, I find. When I find, I do it with everything in me.
When I was in University, I served in a couple of offices and I am so glad that I did.
Fast forward to this current moment. I am serving in the media department of my church and I have been serving for a while now. It has been a great privilege and experience. I have learnt, I have grown, I have understood things better, I have been stretched, I have been taught too.
Over the years, I have come to realize that service is one of the purest forms of stewardship. It is choosing to give your time, strength, and gifts to something greater than yourself, often without applause or recognition.
So, I am grateful for service! It has shaped my life in ways that only the result can explain—I cannot put them in words. Service has made me more grounded, more responsible, most accountable, more productive and better in my interaction with my fellow humans.
In service, more work is given, more responsibilities are being laid on you and I believe that it is a pointer to the fact that people believe in your ability to get things done—do not disappoint them.
Until tomorrow, bye.
