Hi love, how are you? Welcome aboard, I hope you find hope, happiness and peace here.
I was in a conversation earlier today about how extreme practices that Christians involve themselves in sounds funny to me. Funny not because I haven’t heard them before, funny because I am shocked that people still believe in it. It is so evident because each time I have to talk about it, it is always with shock spread across my face.
Tell me how it isn’t shocking that a woman who is unable to conceive has to go to the beach with a “man of God” to bathe her and eventually have sex with her so she’d be able to conceive? Starting from the fact that a grown man that is not my husband would have to bathe me when I am conscious is over me. Bathe me? Why? For what reason?
Moving on, how can you as a believer believe that burning your clothes as a signifier of your problems is a thing? Oh, my expensive aso oke!
I recently heard a prayer point that has to be prayed with a finger directly on your navel and it was a pastor from a well known church that anchored the prayer session.
Going to the beach to pray for speedy answers to your prayers is also another thing that I’d never understand. Are you lots well? I don’t mean to be rude but really? Does it not sound absurd to you?
Now, I understand that people might say that I can talk this much because I haven’t been faced by a serious trouble. Oh, I have and I did some really absurd things but at least it wasn’t a pastor that instructed me to do them. I wasn’t a believer at the time and I was ready to do absolutely everything to make sure that order returned to my family.
We know that the people in darkness are used to doing weird things but when did churches also become a home to all these practices? When did men of God become steward of the principles of the world? When?
The only solution that I have been able to think of to this pandemic is the understanding of the faith that you have received. Every believer have to understand what it means to me a believer, what it takes to be a believer and how to live as a believer. Maybe then, the numbers of fake prophets and pastors would drop.
Until tomorrow, bye.
